Thankful (NOV 27, 2014)

I am thankful for my husband. He has now been with me for 27 years now; seeing me at my very best and at my ultimate worst and every iteration of that in between.  He persistently and consistently loves me because he loves me.  He guides me when I need it, backs off when he knows I won't learn any other way, he prays for me, he encourages me, he is a real friend, he is my love and my partner.  He stays and is committed to us and it's not just about a stubborn commitment to stay married (although that is part of it), and it's not just about wanting to belong to someone (although that is part of it too).  It about a commitment and dedication to us, and a great deep love for me (all of me); enduring the parts of me that are irritating and being openly pleased with the parts of me the that make him happy and proud.  I am thankful for my husband!  These words only scratch the surface of how much.
