Woke Up Grateful . . . no power

I woke up feeling so grateful. Probably because we had no power. I woke up warm and cozy in my bed due to a well insulated home and an extra comforter. I drank hot coffee for breakfast because I own a camp stove. I have plenty to eat, and my next door neighbor is my sister-in-law who has a generator if I absolutely need lights and to refill water jugs. (We keep extra water jugs filled year round.) We have a wood stove, which we lit late this morning to keep the house warm. The outside animals (ducks and duck-wanna-be cat) have a house out of the wind to stay warm. I had just cleaned the duck pools the day before, and the temps did not drop low enough to freeze their water bowls and buckets. The sun is bright and beautiful. I found my backpacking battery backup, so I still have power for my smart phone, which I can also recharge in the truck. We did not get any damage from the branches, limbs or trees that fell. I might have only noticed a few of these things if my power had been on. — I know I may sound sappy and trite to some, but those who really know me well know that I am 100% sincere.
Thanking God for so much, and the ability to see it.
