a few glorious autumn days

As I sit here at my little work desk in my home, I look out the window at the beauty of my backyard. The fall leaves are about 50% on the ground now and their colors are all merging toward the same warm light brown color.

There is much I love about Autumn in Virginia.   The bright clear blue skies that the drop in humidity bring. The varied and varying colors.  The delightful dance of the leaves as they fall when the wind blows, sometimes a solo, sometimes a pas de deux, and sometimes a glorious corp of dancing leaves.  The crunching sound of the leaves when anyone animal or human walks thru them.  The cozy feeling of coming in from the brisk coolness of the day.  The smell of the leaves and autumn air is even wonderfully different from any other season.

Every autumn has a peak of colors and beauty the last two weeks here in my region I think have been at peak.  I have very much been enthralled by it's beauty.
