This morning waking up at my parents home. As I walked in my parents kitchen I saw this happy sign and it made me giggle with delight (had to take a picture) thank you Papa for fresh coffee!
We had a nice McDonalds breakfast family time in the car on the way to Johns Hopkins Medical Center. Papa was most definitely the sharpest puzzle solving team member today.
At the appointment we found out that Mama does have wide spread arthritis throughout her spine, and may at some point need to have major surgery, to stabilize and support the vertebral joints from T-11 through S1. But for now the next step is to investigate pain management options. My hope is that since her disc spaces and nerve spaces are still pretty decent that if we can get her pain under control to hopefully then she can hopefully regain strength and function, and most importantly quality of life.
NeeNaw’s pain was very high today, she had a bad headache and her blood pressure was very high as well, all these things made it challenging to accept with gladness that she was being referred to yet another specialist for yet another consultation. Still, we are working hard to stay positive.
We ate a late lunch at a diner, then headed back to Mama & Papa's home. Papa made me another cup of coffee ☕️and I worked on a few quotes for work. Mama laid down and rested.
I had a pleasant phone call from my sister and my nephew.
Later tonight, as Mama was getting ready to go to bed, Papa and I ordered a pizza. We feasted on large slices of pizza and talked, then watched a NVCC-TV show on Winslow Homer, an American landscape painter and printmaker, best known for his marine subjects, while and ate giant chocolate cookie slices for desert. What a enjoyable way to end the day.
