A Shawn and Sam Saturday

First thing in the morning, as we were resetting the well pump (power was out the night before due to the storm) and feeding the ducks, Shawn found a Lady Slipper flower blooming in our yard.

Then Sam Style French toast for breakfast.Shawn patiently waited while I  made breakfast.  And our do everything together day had begun.

After I collected a couple of dozen duck eggs, we got ready to go garden shopping and maybe go to the Metro Richmond Zoo. Several stops later we had 133 plants (74 of which were flowers and three of which were herbs).

The Zoo was super busy due the beautiful weather, plus we had been to four stores and taken longer than planned, so we skipped the zoo and headed home to see how many plants we could get in the ground.

Time together in the garden.

We got all the garden plants in the ground (and no I didn't play with my smart phone the whole time I only pulled it out a few time to take pictures).

We even got the flowers and herbs planted.

Then an easy dinner of packaged fish fillets, crab cakes and French fries with "homemade" Tarter sauce.

We finished the day worn out and with sore backs from gardening with a bit of humor from the Conchords.

It was a good day!
