Reminding them of what they already know ...

Reminding them of what they already know  ...
"So I will always remind you of these things, even though you know them and are firmly established in the truth you now have. I think it is right to refresh your memory as long as I live in the tent of this body," 2 Peter 1:12-13 (NIV)
It seems my words of encouragement for others are most often reminders what they already know.  This can *feel* redundantly unimportant almost to the point of not worth speaking.  Then I read this verse again in the process of reading it's context and realize that Peter thought it right to keep reminding them of what they knew.  So in a way, I am keeping company with the Apostle Peter (the Rock) - not bad company to keep.  I will discard the *feeling* of redundancy and replace it with the same attitude of the Apostle Peter *I will always be ready to remind you of these things, even though you already know them, and have been established in the truth which is present with you. I consider it RIGHT ... to stir you up by way of reminder* (NASV)
