inspiration

I was at the post office, waiting for my husband, because I had locked my keys in the car, and had the sweetest encounter with a girl and her mother. The young lady who looked to be btw 8-12 yrs old, spoke to me with a relaxed happiness like she already knew me and said she liked the way I did my hair. When I replied letting her know that I liked her scarf and all the colors in it, she joyfully and without hesitation, explained that it was her mother's. When they came back out she noticed the color of my cell phone (purple) and mentioned that it was her mother's favorite color and that she liked purple too. She was delighted by the fact that all three had this in common. There was something so unassumingly open, so full of a peaceful joy about her, and her mother was pleasant and apologetically friendly as well. It truly blessed me, even though our encounter and connection was less than two minutes total. This young lady was full of light and joy, and she made a difference just by simply paying attention and connecting to the people around her with loving kindness and sincere interest. She was my inspiration today!
