loved my weekend with Shawn and Megan

I had a really really good weekend.

I was concerned because I have this upper respiratory bug and it saps my energy, but Saturday after sleeping half the day Friday and a long time Friday night into Saturday morning I was doing better.

Saturday was my birthday fun day.  Plan A was what we went with, but Megan had Plan B (watch documentaries all day - something we all enjoy) if we were not up to walking around.
Megan brought me flowers for my birthday
live ones!

Plan A:
We went to Tredegar Iron Works, Civil War Museum, watched a live (gun powder no shell) civil war artillery demonstration, walked across the pedestrian bridge to Belle Isle and explored, followed by a wonderful meal at Kuba Kuba.

Sunday morning was a really great worship and message on leading and blessing our children.

Father's Day:  I didn't get cards out ... this year has been especially bad in this area, but we did get to talk with Papa/PawPaw/Sonny and Fred/Granddaddy/Diddy.

It was a mostly relaxing day, my cough and tiredness was worse but not so bad that I didn't enjoy the day.

Phone calls, and text conversations...  touching base and making connections ... very vey nice

Shawn, Megan and I prepared a feast and grilled out.

We also each spent time with the duckies and most them ate out of our hands (sorry no pictures).

Meggy and I even gave Shawn a Father's day gift.  Hot Sauce he loved so much at Kuba Kuba.

Both nights ended with wild life documentaries.

I hated to see it end, but WOW!  I have so many things to be thankful for.  As I posted on facebook, "I hope I never lose sight of the many blessings in my life"... in each of my "todays".
