2010 prayer tagline goals thoughts

THE SERENITY PRAYER
God,
grant me
the serenity to accept the things I cannot change,
courage to change the things I can, and
the wisdom to know the difference.
Living one day at a time,
enjoying one moment at a time,
accepting hardship as the pathway to peace;
taking, as He did, this sinful world as it is,
not as I would have it;
trusting that He will make all things right
if I surrender to His will;
that I may be reasonably happy in this life,
and supremely happy with Him forever
in the next.

Jesus is our Prince of Peace (His words below)
John 14:27 -
"Peace I leave with you;
my peace I give you.
I do not give to you as the world gives.
Do not let your hearts be troubled
and do not be afraid."
John 16:33 -
"I have told you these things,
so that in me you may have peace.
In this world you will have trouble.
But take heart! I have overcome the world."

My 2010 tagline - What it means to me... looking and moving forward into 2010
Like what you do...
* Learn the secret of being content in any and every situation
* Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice!
* It is God who is at work in you, both to will and to work for His good pleasure.
....Do all things without grumbling or disputing
Do what you like...
* Press on to take hold of that for which Christ Jesus took hold of me
* We are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works
* There are different kinds of gifts..., and he gives them to each one, just as he determines.
...In fact God has arranged the parts in the body, every one of them,
....just as he wanted them to be. If they were all one part, where would the body be?

My goals:
-> Trust God with each moment
-> Position myself for peace - embrace peace
......(the peace of God which surpasses all understanding)
-> be true to my created self - to move in the fullness of who I am created to be
......* prayful worshipper
......* silly with childlike wonder
......* one who loves to hike, walk, and canoe (my way of pursuing peace)
......^ pursue and finding peace walking in the wonders of God's creation
........(and listen for lessons that God would speak through nature,
.........which will always be consistant with His Holy Written Word, of course)
......* a crafter (being made in His likeness - I love to create)
......^ Mostly this is about not forgetting to take care of myself,
.........and to recognize and remember that I am uniquely and wonderfully made
.........and that I should partner with God to be the Sam He created me to be
.........even if it doesn't fit, or match, or is not well received by others.
.........To remember that it is God who created my likes and dislikes,
.........and that "it is GOOD" for me to enjoy and pursue the things that I like
.........so long as it stays within His Will... (I could launch into a long
.........explaination here - but will choose not too. If anyone besides me
.........reads this and is concerned that I have gone biblically astray
.........please comment or send me a message and I will be happy to explain.)
-> to continue to grow and learn the life giving power of a simple quiet
.....but firm "no", and to trust and listen more and more in/to God
.....with regard to this powerful weapon. This is the lesson I believe firmly
.....that He wanted me to learn in 2009. I have been a slow learner
.....and therefore have learned more from the falling and getting up bruised method
.....than by the listen and practice method, BUT I am learning.

Some of these goals to learn some of these life lessons I have been very slowly learning for years
and still I am not there yet - but it is my goal is to keep moving forward.

To be reasonably happy in this world - and supremely happy in Him.

My flesh and my heart may fail (and often do) BUT God is the strength of my heart and my portion FOREVER.
