Just a thought...
For us 30ish to 50ish somethings, music is so important.
(I can't really can't speak for any other age group, so it might be true of other age groups, but it seems especially so for my age group.)
We grew up with a soundtrack. We had radios, tape players, stereos, Walkmans, now mp3 players, playing nearly all day everyday.
So I guess it makes sense that when our emotions run into deep places so many of us find a song better fits, than just a journal entry. Maybe I should try poetry... that would seem like the closest the written word comes to song.

Tonight these words best describe the "Rubber Hits the Road" Kingdom of Heaven Living
(Sara Groves of course)
When anger fills your heart
When in your pain and hurt
You find the strength to stop
You bless instead of curse
When fear engulfs your mind
Says you protect your own
You still extend your hand
You open up your home
When sorrow fills your life
When in your grief and pain
You choose again to rise
You choose to bless the name
That's a little stone that's a little mortar
That's a little seed that's a little water
In the hearts of the sons and the daughters
His Kingdom's coming
I had a musical day myself...
