a morning prayer

STOP LOOK & LISTEN

I do so much better at embracing peace and discernment when I do...

but many times I act like a squirrel caught in traffic,

very quickly running here and there, dodging this and that,

but not actually getting anywhere.

And as I struggle to stop, look, and listen this moring,

I write my thoughts here. No. I write my prayer here.

My prayer this morning:

Let me be still and stop striving and fighting and know that God is God and I am not. That HE loves me and watches over me and will "speak" and guide me if I will STOP LOOK & LISTEN.

I repent from my temper tantrums and moments of doing nothing but spin in unproductive motion. I choose to listen and cooperate and move in peace, celebrating the many joys of my life.

Thank you LORD GOD... for my husband who loves me so well, who listens, laughs, guides me, and respects me, and who encourages me to be strong and independant yet still be the me that I am who needs and loves connection with people. Thank you for provision. Thank you for YOUR love. Thank you for this home, for my family, for my children, for protecting us all, and for allowing challenges and hardships in our lives to mature (emotionally, mentally, and spiritually) me, Shawn, Justin, and Megan... as well as my dearly loved friends and family.

YOUR ways are greater than my ways. Thank you for sunrise, and the songs of birds, and the wind in the trees, and the quiet morning of reflection. Thank YOU for a roof over my head in a beautiful county. Thank YOU for YOUR Faithfulness. YOU, my GOD, my Loving Heavenly Father King, are MY GOD. I will worship you with my day filled with wonder and awe and gratitude for all the beauty you fill every moment (easy or difficult) with. YOU are MY ETERNAL FRIEND, MY LOVE AND PROTECTOR, MY KEEPER. And I stop now and listen to YOUR WORD, and to the many things YOU "speak" into my life through nature and circumstance. YOU truly are a good and loving God. I love you! Thank YOU!

LORD GOD ALMIGHTY, post your angels 'round about my loved ones, to protect and minister. May they know more of YOU and Your Goodness and Faithfulness today. They are precious to me and I know they are even more precious to You. Be thier Light, their Hope, their Joy and thier Peace. "Speak" to each of them, as I know You do, each in there own language, guide them and show them more and more how you love each of them personally and indivdually.

And LORD bring unity to YOUR church, all of us without division.

YOUR Kingdom come and YOUR Will be done.
